Description:

This viola is an excellent student instrument made from high quality materials for better sound and reliability. The ebony fingerboard and pegs are very durable and much more resistant to shifts in temperature and humidity than the painted pine that is often used in "discount" violas. The top of this viola is made of solid spruce while the back, sides, and bridge are maple. These materials are not only more durable than the laminate plywood used in cheaper violas, but they also sound noticeably better even to the untrained ear.
