A 2023 Fender Custom Shop collection, the '64 Telecaster Relic is a classic in look, sound, and vibe that is an exquisite rebirth of the mid-'60s Telecaster, which was born in music's most monumental year, nearly 60 years old. Specifications. Featuring Alder or Ash, Fender's most popular tonewoods, the two-piece body delivers a balanced sound and is finished with Relic lacquer in Natural Blonde (ash body), Aged Fiesta Red, or Aged Seafoam Green. Subtle cracks on the body and dents and scratches from the bridge to the headstock give it the authentic feel of having been played in clubs and bars for years. The equipped quarter-sawn maple neck has a '60s-style oval "C" profile that tapers toward the nut and gradually thickens toward the 12th fret for a comfortable feel, with 21 narrow-tall frets (6105 ) and a bone nut. Hand-wound Texas Special™ Telecaster pickups feature a 3-way switch and state-of-the-art Telecaster wiring for hot tones with bite in the midrange. Other premium features include a 3-ply mint green pickguard, '64-'66 Telecaster bridge with threaded steel saddles, vintage-style "F" tuners, wing string tree, deluxe hardshell case, strap, and Certificate of Authenticity. A book is included.
