The Amplified Nation Steel String Singer is a powerful amplifier renowned for its exceptional hi-fi sound quality and precise articulation. Its sonic character is diverse, ranging from shimmering and smooth cleans to the highly sought-after clean-lead tones popularized by Stevie Ray Vaughn and John Mayer. With a well-balanced EQ and an impressive clean power output, this amplifier delivers articulate, punchy tones that remain clear even at high volume levels. It offers the ability to dial in sparkling, tight cleans as well as high-output aggressive leads, and its rich reverb complements both playing styles effectively.
Our SSS model is based on Eric Johnson's original #005 amplifier. The amp was designed with a cathode follower driver, an additional 12AT7 tube located in the power section. This cathode follower enhances the amp's output with low distortion, contributing to its distinctive sound and percussive characteristics. While we cherished the original 150-watt version, we understand that it may be too powerful for some players. Therefore, we now offer the amplifier in various wattage options.
The amp features a three-tube reverb with send and return controls, enabling control over the reverb depth and its level in the mix. The Singer also incorporates two six-position EQ filters and three tone boosts, allowing quick adjustments to the tone stack for enhanced tonal flexibility. The preamp boost and FET input toggle can be activated using the 2-button footswitch. Users can switch from the FET input to the NOR input using the FET OFF feature on the amp.
The amp is the exact amp you’ll receive.
